The Ex-Wives' Club
Lily goes to see Judy at Booklovers to complain about Rick's treatment, not realizing that Karen is there, hidden behind the bookshelves. After making some comment about "not being sure what Karen's said", Karen comes out and there is an awkward moment.

The conscience of Chicago
Rick is invited to a talk show to explain "his side". Unfortunately, it turns out to be a sensationalist witch hunt and Rick wisely walks out.

EPISODE TIMELINE:
by LaChefski@go.com

This one was pretty easy, days-wise. As T'diver reported last week, the action took place over four (week) days.

If AP-1 ended on a Saturday ( 4/28, for those keeping score at home), then it could be that GB begins on Monday, the 30th... or maybe Tuesday. My concern was Miles' very fast decline, but I've learned that's the nature of this terrible form of cancer.

Monday/Tuesday -- Morning at the Mannings' and Lily suggests eloping, though Rick says they'll have to take the DA's office; DA Bob tells Karen that Rick's going to walk; Karen gives the news to Rick; Rick gives the news to Lily that night, they very briefly feel like celebrating, until it's clear to Rick that Atlantor will bail on the project..

Next day -- Rick gets off the phone with CEO and tells his staff that work has been suspended; DA Bob conveniently sees Karen at her coffee shop; Mason Gould nails Rick on the Conscience of Chicago; Lily interrupts Karen and Judy at BL; Eli and Jess watch that show at the same time as Rick at his office (with some Scotch) and Lily at home.

Next day -- Lily and Rick get ideas for wedding flowers; Upton Sinclair Awards, and DA Bob kisses Karen; Rick dines with Arnold and drinks with his work friends (including Amanda)...says he'll take a taxi home; at his apartment, Lily awaits and the heated scene ensues [note -- she says they haven't talk about what's going on in "days".. I guess that's ok, if the last time they talked was Saturday after the marshals tore up his apartment]

Next day -- Rick comes downstairs, and "E" and Jess leave for school; Judy visits Lily, who has called in sick..; Karen and DA Bob meet in front of the courthouse to break it off, maybe; Rick visits Miles in his Presidential Suite; Rick tips over the models, then goes to Lily's for the final scene..

It looks like we're down to the last 7 or so days before the wedding. Needless to say, I'll be VERY interested to see if MO adheres to this for us!

"Once and Again"

Tonight, Rick (Billy Campbell) is a mess in the wake of the Atlantor scandal, and an acerbic talk show host only makes him feel worse.

Speaking of shows ABC needs to renew, Once and Again picks up where last week's superlative hour left off, as Rick faces economic collapse. What a sin it will be if Billy Campbell's beautifully controlled performance is ignored by the Emmys — and what a loss it will be if this series is cut short.

"Won't Someone Please Help George Bailey tonight?"
This episode is going to be about Rick's work. I believe Rick going on a talk show (Mason Gould Show) and will be embarrassed. Also I think Rick and Lily might talk some things out.
