Episode Timeline

My Associate has an opinion
After Dr Sherri goes overboard berating a caller (not the first such incident), Les gets rid of her in mid-show. He attempts to take over, but is unable to. In desperation, he turns to Lily who is only trying to get him his lunch.

Is Jessie home?
Dreamy Tad calls the Sammler house and Grace picks up. She thinks he's calling for her until he asks for Jessie. Apparently, he called Karen first who gave him Lily's number. Tad then, very awkwardly, asks Jessie out on her first date. This news is poorly received by Grace.

The Pearl Necklace
At one time, Grace asked to borrow Lily's Pearl Necklace (given to her by Phil), but was turned down because "what if you lost it?". Later, Grace sees the necklace out and after being questioned, Lily admits having offered it to Jessie because Grace forgot about having offered her seashell necklace and was nowhere to be found.

It's the shiny kind
When Rick drops Jessie off on her date, he gives her a new necklace he got for the occassion. This is the very same "shiny kind" that Jessie had said earlier (to Lily) that she hates.

EPISODE TIMELINE:

by LaChefski@go.com

This Mon-Fri timeline is as "pregnant" with days as Tiffany is with her baby.

Day # 1 (Monday, has to be) -- Lunchtime, 12:37, and Eli is listening to the Dr. Sherri show from the kitchen HQ's. From WIXP, Lily tries to give Les his gumbo but Sherri drowns them all out. At play rehearsal, Grace giggles (which is permitted) and Dimitri reminds the cast that the Parent Info Meeting is moved to "this Friday night." At home, Lily and Rick are both concerned about the time commitment (Rick -- "There are only so many hours in the day.") Judy arrives for her nightly meal and Tad phones for Jessie, whom he wants to meet at the party Friday night. Lily announces a "turning point" in Jessie's life.

Day # 2, Tuesday -- The next day, Judy meets Karen, who is spying on a Leo-like figure, for lunch. Judy says she saw Jessie "yesterday," then places her foot in her mouth. At WIXP, Lily is disappointed to hear Jake can't keep his date with Zoe. Karen storms into Rick's office, wondering why she's kept out of the loop. That night in their bedroom, Lily's suffers squeaky eye and thinks R&K feel threatened because Jessie's growing up. Rick offers to cure L's condition.

Sorry to say that a logjam of events follow, which it's very hard to believe ALL happened on Wednesday. Suffice to say, Jessie gets lots of phone calls but I don't think we're supposed to be counting (calls or days).

Day # ??, Thursday -- Jessie hangs up the phone, informing Lily and Grace she's going on the date. It's 7:35AM, so "J" says they should go. Lily and Grace scuffle, then Grace graciously offers Jessie her assistance "on Friday." Grace is not happy at rehearsal that afternoon. Rewinding a bit to lunch at WIXP, Sherri loses it (temper, not lunch) AND her job. Lily makes her On-Ai go, she's been talking on the phone about it "all week."

FRIDAY --- The school marquee advertises "As You Like It" on November 30. Rick drops the girls off and meets Tad. At the radio station, Les tells Lily he wants her to strike a chord "once a week," and tells her about a segment with Michael "tonight." Jessie is in-session with Dr. Zwick, and Karen picks her up after. She wants to take her daughter shopping, but Jessie says Grace offered to help and wants to dropped off "there." Cutting it close in the auditorium, Grace tells DD she wants to quit, but he plays her some music instead. Karen talks to lawyer Gayle and leaves for the Parent Meeting.

Where does the time go, Grace is late home and Jessie's already left. She waited "for an hour," displeased Lily states. Grace erupts. Soon, Lily leaves for the meeting, where she tries to speak to Karen. Karen answers her phone, though, and tells Gayle she will stop by "tonight." Rick drops Jessie off at the bowling party and, soon, hears Lily's voice over the radio. Grace and Karen also hear Lily, on the air once again.

10:00 (ABC) "Once and Again." So Lily, like Sabrina and Frasier, finds sudden fame behind the microphone, hosting an individualistic radio show. Nice work if you can get it — and apparently they can. Paul Dooley, as Lily's eccentric boss, is, as always, a delight.
