Commentary on Timeline BFS - 08/07/00 1979 Lily finishes Education degre and starts teaching (LSTNT, s) 1980 Lily enters Medill School of Journalism, Northwestern University (s) 1981 Lily becomes Editor of The Daily Northwestern, Northwestern University (DG) However, in reality, the Daily Northwestern is an undergraduate newpaper and its editor would be an undergrad student. In contrast, the Medill School of Journalism offers only post-graduate degrees. My own speculation is revisionist history: by the time the writers got to DG, they had erased the reference to Lily having taught, and instead made her a journalism major who'd worked at Chicago magazine. The timeline here is a bit garbled. Her resume in DG said she graduated from NU in 1983, and it would seem she started working immediately thereafter. Yet in her job interview, Christy noted that she'd worked for Chicago magazine for only 5 months, which Lily put down to having started a family -- even though Grace wasn't born until spring, 1985. Of course, Lily's math has never been very good.
